23 QUERIES

Sir Isaac Newton published thirty-one, so I’m cutting you some slack here.

Consider these queries an informal exercise, a little meal break diversion. You don’t have to know all the answers. Just allowing yourself a moment to consider the questions might spark an expansion of consciousness. Maybe enough to momentarily neutralize The Program?

  • Are you or are you not the end result of your chemical affinities?

  • Would it shake your ingrained beliefs to explore the concept of Neurotheology?

  • I sweep floors. What sweeps “mind?” (hint: you won’t make it to the end of this questionnaire without it)

  • Could there be a possible correlation between addictive behaviors and adrenaline levels?

  • When was the last time you read Rumi?

  • What do an obese man and an anorexic woman have in common? (Hint: they hear the same internal/infernal whisper)

  • What Chromosome appears to be the Chimp vs. Man pivot point?

  • Should Geneticists consider developing an in-vitro gene therapy program for those newborns that show a marked predisposition toward becoming a psychopath?

  • What is your source code that prompts trash talk?

  • Have you ever listened to Devendra Banhart?

  • How hard is it for you to say “I don’t know” – and why?

  • Do you know what specific data is embedded on the film strip on the back of your Driver’s License?

  • “You are your brain.” Is Crick right or wrong?

  • Do you believe you are being tracked right now by any number of digital/cellular/satellite-fed devices?

  • What are your feelings about neuroscientists being able to use brain waves to eavesdrop on your mind?

  • If you are in the mood to show some creative/intellectual prowess, would you do your Custodian a favor and write out, verse by verse, your interpretation of the Bob Dylan song “Desolation Row?”

  • What do you know about “Barr bodies” (and why should you care)?

  • The Mesoamerican long count calendar comes to an end on December 21st, 2012. What do you think the Mayans were trying to tell Humanity?

  • Do you believe your species would evolve if it committed itself to a global effort to explore space?

  • Do you read Rilke?

  • Knowing that Humans rarely pull it off, can you name three species that mate for life?

  • Do you think that your face-to-face interactions have decreased in proportion to your digital interactions?

  • In a word, why do you think Human history keeps repeating itself?
